i came across this book today. A World Without Email: Reimagining Work in an Age of Communication Overload
i didn't read this book and unlikely i will.
i read 2 of Cal's books but couldn't finish.
his books are not bad but they are one of those books that can-be-a-blog-post kind of book.
he is not a bad writer, but i can't say he is good, i taste too much crafting, not much spark.
what i want to say is i prefer "a world without microsoft teams".
emails are ok, i know where the delete button is.
meanwhile, teams let people have different expectation from me.
manager sends a message on teams: "do you have 5 min to talk?"
i immediately start a one person meeting and sharing my screen.
i like to read about how people work and what tools they use aka productivity porn.
one of the top 3 readers comments always start with: "why not use blah blah blah" or something similar.
