how i ai at work
my workplace uses claude - this is how i use it.
what for
at the end of every workday, i feel the day has been busy enough but at the same time if you ask me tomorrow what i did yesterday - i won't remember.
i have been searching for a way to log my workday.
i tried many things - daily notes, interstitial journaling, way back to the daily log method from 2010.
nothing sticks.
no matter how simple the methods are, they all require some sort of structure or organisation system - tags, conventions, timestamps etc. - i am bad at maintaining them.
all i want is to keep the information and find it again when i need it.
skill
it was inspired by claude's productivity plugin. i tried it then decided to change it to make something similar.
i tell claude what i want, it creates a skill.
what it does
- connects to my emails and calendar and pulls all the information.
- creates a task list for me and updates it as it goes.
- i take notes during the day - either put into an md file or the chat.
- ask claude to consolidate notes in a file by date yyyy-mm-dd.
- claude creates summaries for any projects, profiles of people for me.
- all these notes sit in an obsidian vault.
- do a daily wrap up and a weekly wrap up. claude will summarise what i have done and what the open loops are, what to watch out for. more than once it points out something i haven't considered on a task that i marked done.
how i use it
some examples, i ask claude:
- anything urgent for me today.
- what xxx wants on the monthly report.
- what are the pending actions on the project xyz.
- who is this person?
it is my personal assistant, my crm at work, wikipedia of work-related information.
the beauty is that it get the friction out of my way.
